Time is one of the most precious things we have. We all wish we had more. So we recognise that the gift of time is valuable.
Volunteering is a great way to help us make the world better. We have a small team, so we rely on generous volunteers to give us a hand around the hospital, at our events, in our office, for our fundraising activities, and for special projects.
Our yellow-shirted superstar volunteers can be spotted around the hospital cheerfully lending a hand. Angels provide support to patients and visitors like providing directions, weighing people before clinic, and managing a free mobile magazine library. There are also specific tasks for each ward, such as removing food tray lids for elderly patients, making cups of tea for relatives, and guiding visitors to the right room.
Charlie’s Angels have a regular roster so it’s a great way for people who can commit every week to make a difference.
The Angels are the original hospital auxiliary and have been lending a hand since 1978. They aim to make coming to the hospital as stress-free as possible for patients, visitors and families. Their motto is ‘we serve’. And we love them for it.

Since 1989, The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation has made iconic strawberry sundaes at the Royal Brisbane Show, better known as the Ekka. And of course we are doing it all again this year!
We run five stalls at the Ekka, making the delicious treats for 10 days every August. But we don’t do it alone. We need about 3000 volunteers each year to chop strawberries, scoop ice cream, and serve customers. It’s a great team activity for your colleagues, friends or community group.
We often need volunteers to help with our fundraising and community events. Duties differ for each event.
In March we need people to help with our Cycle of Giving doing things like registering riders at each start point, helping us set up each start location, packing up at the end, manning refreshment stops, putting up signage along the route, and acting as road marshals for the riders.
We also run other events throughout the year such as Christmas Carols in the hospital and our annual charity golf day.

Have you got administration skills and a desire to make a difference? We often have opportunities for volunteering in our office.
Duties may include making thank you calls to donors, packing information kits, or answering phones. If you’re interested, give us a ring on 1800 501 269 or fill in our volunteer expression of interest form and let us know your skills.
Corporate volunteering is an amazing way for your team to work together on a project and make a real difference. Whether it’s lending us a whole crew for an event, or getting your hands dirty building an outdoor patient retreat, we can match the opportunity to your team’s needs.
It’s incredible how rewarding it can be for a group of people who work together every day to get out of the office and do something together to make the world better.
If you’ve got an idea for your team or would like to find one, please call us to discuss your options on 1800 501 269 or fill in our expression of interest form and we’ll get back to you.
