Eligibility
.Projects will be considered only if the work is being undertaken at or in significant association with TPCH.
The Foundation aims to have its funded research grants taking place at TPCH or in conjunction with a TPCH community program.
.Projects from applicants applying for, and/or in receipt of tobacco industry funding, will not be considered.
.For New Researcher Grant applications, any relevant Ethics Committee(s) approval must be obtained in writing prior to submission of the grant application.
.A condition of TPCH Foundation New Researcher Grant is the involvement of a senior researcher who will act as the primary mentor to support the research work, specifically in terms of the methodological aspects of the proposed research project.
.The Foundation does not appoint the mentor. The mentor needs to be nominated by the applicant.
.The mentor does not need to be located on the TPCH campus.
.The application requests that an explanation is provided as to why the mentor is the appropriate senior researcher to mentor the applicant in the proposed research work.
.The applicant will not have received prior research grant funding support from The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation or other funding body. A definition of ‘new researcher’ is substantiated by the applicant not having been the chief investigator on a previous Foundation grant application, or on any other grant application from another funding body, successful or otherwise.
.If you are successful, you will be required to sign a Terms & Conditions document which includes active willingness to promote your work, to talk to external sponsors if they can be secured by the Foundation and to be available for media interviews if the Foundation can achieve media coverage of your research project.
