It’s end of financial year and the tax man is breathing down your neck. But a donation to The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation can help you save on your tax bill while helping us save lives.
CEO Kate Ashton said the Foundation issues receipts for all donations and any donation over $2 can be claimed when you lodge your income tax return. “We are currently running our ‘fixing broken hearts’ appeal, highlighting the terrible fact that heart disease is the biggest killer of Aussie mums, dads and kids,” Ms Ashton said. “The Prince Charles Hospital is Australia’s biggest heart hospital and a centre for world leading medical research. The Foundation is the charity which provides funding for research at the hospital. “In addition to our support for established researchers, in 2010 we introduced grants to support novice researchers and research equipment. We also have dedicated funding for practical nursing research projects.” Ms Ashton also said anyone wanting to get a jump on next year’s tax deductions can join our payroll giving program. “The payroll donations program allows people to make small donations every pay cycle. It means that over a year the donations accumulate and by June 30 each year you’ve got a decent tax deduction,” she said. The Foundation operates a commercial café and catering service to offset administration costs. The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation has been supporting life saving medical research for 25 years.
