Australia’s best selling female author is The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation’s new Ambassador for Women and Healthy Families.
Rachael Bermingham, co-author of the 4 Ingredients books, will help to raise awareness of heart disease, the single biggest killer of Australian women. Foundation CEO Kate Ashton said many women don’t realise the symptoms of heart disease and put them down to just being busy. “Women with heart disease might experience excessive fatigue, anxiety, sleep deprivation or shortness of breath, but without obvious chest pains they might just think that’s just normal life for busy mums,” Ms Ashton said. “We’re thrilled that Rachael Bermingham – a busy mum and writer herself – has committed to helping us find cures and save lives.” Ms Bermingham will be speaking at The Prince Charles Hospital this Friday morning. Her newest book is a healthy recipe collaboration with Deepak Chopra and her writing partner Kim McCosker. “Women are renowned for giving so much of themselves to others that they forget to look after themselves and fulfil their own needs,” Rachael said. “By taking simple preventative measures we can improve our health and happiness and have more energy to do everything we want to do. “I admire The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation for taking the initiative to not just help women who have heart disease, but also in taking an active role in helping to prevent it,” she said.
