Kate Ashton
CEO, The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation
Kate Ashton joined The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation in February 2008 after approximately 20 years in various management positions in Queensland and the UK.
Kate’s prior role was General Manager, Queensland, for The Smith Family (a national not-for-profit helping kids with education) and her remit was operational delivery, external partnership relationships and increased performance. She relocated permanently to Brisbane in 2005 from the UK, where she was Chief Executive of West London Business responsible for brokering social investment solutions between corporates, government councils, universities and not-for-profit agencies.
Kate has previously worked as Director and also Head of Strategic Partnerships of the West London Training & Education Council where she was responsible for generating private business investments in youth apprenticeship training. Previously, she worked as Head of Research for Sandcliff Fundraising and Investments, managing fundraising streams and advice for non-profit organisations. Kate also worked as national manager of international community development programs for the British Methodist Church where she was responsible for developing and delivering programs in Africa and Eastern Europe.
Since returning to Australia, Kate worked as a consultant with SMS Management & Technology Consulting in Brisbane where her clients included the State Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries and Xstrata Mining. She has also worked as a volunteer Research Coordinator on the "Sustainable Queensland" project for the Committee of Economic Development, Australia (CEDA).
Kate holds a Master of Philosophy, Bachelor of Science, Diploma in Theology, Diploma in Management Studies and a Post Graduate qualification in Management and Fundraising. She was a member of the Institute of Fundraising in the UK from 1999 to 2005.
She is currently a member of AICD, AIM and the Not-for-Profit Network.
